FSEFCU mourns the passing of their Board Chair, Cecil Lanier

Pensacola, FL (October 11, 2020) — It is with great sadness that Florida State Employees Federal Credit Union announces that the Chair of their Board of Directors, Cecil Lanier, has passed away. Cecil was a member of the Credit Union for over 50 years, and for the past 40 years he served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors. During his service to the Credit Union, he held the offices of Treasurer, Vice Chair and had been the Chair for the past 20 years. Under Cecil’s leadership, the Credit Union experienced exponential growth. When he joined the Board of Directors, the Credit Union was serving only a few hundred members in Escambia county. Today, Florida State Employees FCU serves 2,700 State of Florida employees in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, & Walton counties. Cecil had a strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to the members of the state community which helped the Credit Union thrive. “Cecil always led with his mantra of ‘What can we do better to help our members.’ He was a true champion of State of Florida Employees members,” said Christina Reynolds, President/CEO of Florida State Employees FCU. “Our Credit Union family is deeply saddened by his passing.” For additional information on Cecil’s achievements and funeral service arrangements see below.
